Name:  Spinal Taproom… combines “spinal” because it’s next to My Chiro and “taproom” for a place that serves beer, and it’s also a nod to the 1984 comedy “This Is Spinal Tap.” Our by-line “Craft Beers That Rock” reflects offering delicious craft beers in our Rock History inspired environment.

Opened: July 2022

Location: SW Cedar Rapids, 16th & Edgewood, between Walgreens & My Chiro

Owners: Bruce & Kathy Weisbein (pronounced “WHY spine”)

We also own My Chiro (Bruce is a Doctor of Chiropractic, 27 years, and Kathy manages My Chiro)

Hours: Open daily, only evenings weekdays, and afternoon & evening Saturday & Sunday. “Happy Hour” Monday through Friday 5-7 $2 off all taps.

Food: We do not serve food, but we encourage guests to bring in food of their choice while enjoying our craft beers. Popcorn is complimentary, and we have a small selection of bagged chips available. Su Yu Pei is across the street and one of our favorites for take-out to the taproom.

Beer: We have 16 taps, four of which are dedicated gluten-free lines. We have a “rotating” inventory of beers, mostly from Iowa’s 100+ brewers, and so each week there are usually three or four new beers on tap that we’ve never served before. We do revisit some of our guests’ favorites occasionally. We usually have one or two ciders on tap, too. To date, we’ve served about 250 different beers.

Other Bev: We also offer Cannabis-infused sparkling water, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Live Music: 2-3 times per month, free, check FB & website.

Events: Work/Organization/Family parties are welcome; we’ll set-up tables for the food you bring.

Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are welcome inside & out
